Ingredients needed for making copycat vegan Red Lobster’s biscuits
To make 6 to 8 biscuits, you would need the following ingredients. With all of these ready, you can make fluffy, healthy, tasty and flavorful biscuits within 15 minutes!
- Bisquick (or the biscuit mix) – 1 cup (vegan or gluten-free as per your choice)
- Vegan milk – 1/3 cup (use any plant-based milk of your choice)
- Shredded Vegan Cheese – ½ cup
- Melted Vegan Butter – ¼ cup
- Parsley – 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder and salt combined – ¼ teaspoon
- Old Bay Seasoning – 1/8 teaspoon (can avoid if you don’t have this)
Process of making vegan cheddar bay biscuits
- First, you need to prepare your microwave by pre-heating it to 450 degrees F.
- In a big mixing bowl, add the Bisquick mix.
- Add the shredded vegan cheese to this mix and stir well.
- Add the plant-based milk to this mixture. You can use soy milk because it is quite thicker than other vegan milk types. However, you can also use coconut, almond, cashew, oat milk, or anything you prefer.
- Stir gently so that all contents are mixed well, but take care not to over-stir the mixture.
- Pour ½ or 1/3 of this dough mixture on a cookie sheet (depending on the size of your sheet). Bake it for 8 to 11 minutes.
- You will notice that at the end of the 8th minute, the cookies start turning golden brown and slightly dry.

- Pour equal quantities (about ¾ cups each) of warm coconut oil and canola oil in a blender. To this add a teaspoon of salt and 2 teaspoons of soy lecithin. Add the curdled mixture of vegan milk & lemon juice to the blender, and nicely blend the contents for about a minute.
- Transfer this to a glass container, seal it well and keep it in the freezer for 1 hour. Homemade vegan butter is now ready to be used. Remember to transfer the butter to the refrigerator once it has become nice and firm.
Making homemade vegan cheese Red Lobster’s biscuits
- In a saucepan, empty the contents of a can of full-fat coconut milk and add about ½ cup of hot water to it.
- Keep stirring the mixture, while you add 2 tablespoons each of agar-agar and nutritional yeast. Stir the contents and keep adding 1.5 teaspoons of salt & garlic powder and ½ teaspoon of lemon juice.
- Stir the contents on medium flame till the mixture starts to boil. Once it boils, bring down the flame, and let the mixture cook for 6 minutes for the yeast to get activated.
- After 6 minutes, switch off the flame, pour the mixture immediately into the cheese molds you have kept ready by brushing them with vegan oil. Allow the mixture to cool in the open molds for about 15 minutes.
