The ingredients to prepare 2 vegan fish burgers are:
- 7 oz Firm Tofu
- 14 oz Canned Chickpeas
- 2 oz Wakame Seaweed
- 1 oz Dried Nori Seaweed Sheets
- 1 tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Black Pepper
- 7 oz Panko Breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 6 oz Water
- 7 oz Flour
- 2 Vegan Burger Buns
- Vegetable Seeds Oil for frying
To prepare this recipe, these are the steps to follow:
The first thing we need to prepare are the burgers.
Place the tofu in the food processor and start to blend it, then drain the chickpeas, keeping their water in a small bowl, as we will use it later.
Add the chickpeas to the tofu and add the wakame seaweed and the dried nori seaweed sheets.
Blend them for one minute, having care to not blend the ingredients to much.
At the end, pour the mixture into a bowl and proceed to season with the salt and the black pepper.
Use your hands to knead the burger mix.
Divide the mixture into 4 parts and press them down in a burger shape.
Make sure to press them firmly to prevent them from breaking.
Leave them in the fridge for 20 minutes, and in the meanwhile take a small bowl and mix together the water, the liquid of the canned beans and the flour. Add the paprika, too.
Now use a whisk to beat and get a homogeneous batter.
Dip the burgers in it, then toss them in an oven dish filled with the panko breadcrumbs.
Firmly press the burger on the breadcrumbs to get a nice thick breading.
Now fill a skillet with vegetable seeds oil, put over high heat and once the oil has reached 350°F we are ready to deep fry our burgers.
Deep fry them until the breading turns golden brown.
Cut the buns in half, and season the inner part with salt and pepper. Lay the deep-fried burger in it and add ingredients of your choice to complete your burger.
I suggest you to add lettuce, sliced tomato and a slice of vegan cheese to it.
