Edible Protein Cookie Dough

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of almond flour, fine blanched
  • 3/4 cup of chocolate chips
  • 1/2 Cup of vanilla protein powder
  • 3 tbsp of maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp of plant-based milk
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients (minus the chocolate chips) and mix thoroughly before adding the chocolate chips.
  • Make balls of protein dough that are the same size. I made use of a little ice cream scoop.
  • A tablespoon that is rounded will also do. Dip your hands into the water to roll them if the mixture is sticky during rolling.
  • The cookie dough balls should cool for at least 30 minutes after being placed on a dish or baking sheet.
  • Serve protein dough at room temperature, or if you prefer you can chill them a bit in the fridge. Enjoy!

Notes

  • In this recipe, either oat flour or almond flour will work.
  • Any kind of vanilla or unflavoured protein powder will work.
  • You may replace the maple syrup in this recipe with liquid stevia or munkfruit to make it sugar-free. Because those sweeteners are a little sweeter than maple syrup, make sure to only use half the recommended dose in the recipe.
  • Ensure to use vegan chocolate chips in order to keep this recipe vegan.
  • Although the recipe as stated is gluten-free, it is a good idea to make sure the brand of almond milk you choose is recognised as gluten-free if you have celiac disease.
