You knew what you were having for dinner. Then Wednesday happened.

Nobody arrives here short on information. The gap is between what you decided and what you actually did at 9pm. That gap is the thing Rob works with, in 15 to 20 minutes of guided audio a day.

The week nobody plans for

The plan dies on Wednesday. It is 9pm and you are not even hungry, but the kitchen light goes on anyway. The light goes off and your brain files a report on everything you said wrong. Monday comes round and you start again.

None of that is a discipline problem. It is what happens when the part of you making the decision is not the part that read the plan.

“Eating plants is an act of values. Sticking to it is an act of neurology.”

The distance between knowing what is good for you and doing it consistently is not a willpower problem. It is a pattern problem, and patterns respond to something different than discipline.

What is Cognitive Pattern Reprogramming?

Cognitive Pattern Reprogramming™ is the method Rob developed, drawing on his training in Clinical Hypnosis, Strategic Psychotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Rather than handing you another set of rules to follow, it is designed to help you work with the automatic patterns of thought, emotion and behaviour that sit underneath a decision.

It is delivered as guided audio rather than talk therapy. You put on headphones, press play and listen. There is no homework, nothing to journal and nothing you have to talk through.

Three things that make it different

It helps with the pattern, not just the symptom. The aim is the automatic response underneath the behaviour, rather than managing the behaviour itself every single day.

It is guided audio, so it fits a normal life. No appointment, no waiting list, no travel. Sessions can be used privately, wherever suits you.

It asks very little of you. No concentrating, no sitting still, no streak to keep. Falling asleep partway through an evening session is fine.

What happens in a session?

A session runs 15 to 20 minutes. You find somewhere quiet, put headphones in and follow Rob’s voice. Most people use one a day and give it about three weeks, because patterns are built by repetition and unwound the same way.

There is no food plan, no calorie counting and no requirement to be vegan. You do not need to revisit anything painful, and you do not need to stop any other support you have in place.

Cognitive Pattern Reprogramming is designed to work alongside medical, psychological, dental and other professional care, not in place of it. If you are under care for a diagnosed condition, keep your practitioner in the loop. Results vary from person to person.

Meet Rob Edmonds

Rob Edmonds, founder of MindShift Mentors

Rob Edmonds, founder of MindShift Mentors and creator of Cognitive Pattern Reprogramming™.

Rob’s first experience with hypnotherapy came at 19. A few sessions cleared a fear of public speaking and exam anxiety that had been holding him back for years, and the speed of it stayed with him.

He went on to a career in business consultancy and finance. It worked, and it was not the thing he kept thinking about. Eventually he went back to the work that had changed his own life, studying at the Institute of Applied Psychology before founding MindShift Mentors.

Today his Cognitive Pattern Reprogramming™ method is used by high performers, parents, late-diagnosed women and everyday people who are ready to change at the level where change actually holds.

What Rob works with in his own practice

Alongside MindShift Mentors, Rob sees individual clients directly. In that practitioner work he works with people presenting with stress, anxiety, sleep difficulties, phobias, ADHD, chronic weight concerns, addiction and a range of other behavioural and emotional presentations within his training and scope.

What the audio programs are designed to support

The self-directed programs are a different thing to a consultation with Rob, and they are written to support everyday wellbeing rather than to treat a diagnosed condition. They are designed to help you wind down and sleep more easily, settle an overthinking mind, ease everyday stress, work with cravings and habits, and support focus and confidence.

If something needs medical, psychological or dietetic assessment, that is the right place for it, and the programs are built to sit alongside that care.

Straight answers

Do I need to be vegan to use the programs?

No. Veganiac is a plant-based recipe site, but the MindShift Mentors programs have nothing to do with what you eat and do not ask you to change your diet. Plenty of people arrive here through a recipe and stay for the second half.

How much time does it take each day?

Fifteen to twenty minutes, once a day. You do not have to concentrate, sit still or keep a streak going, and most people give it around three weeks before judging it.

What does it cost after the free trial?

The trial is seven nights free with no credit card. After that the full library is $29.95 a month in Australian dollars, and you can cancel any time.

Is this the same as therapy?

No. The audio programs are self-directed and are designed to complement professional care rather than replace it. Rob also sees individual clients directly in his own practitioner work, which is a separate service to the subscription.

Who is it not for?

Anyone looking for a diet, a meal plan or a set of rules to follow, because it is none of those. It is also not a substitute for assessment or treatment where a medical, psychological or nutritional issue needs proper attention.

The pattern does not get tired of itself

Left alone it does not fade out, it just gets more practised. Another year of it is another year of the same Wednesday. Seven nights costs nothing and asks for no card.
