Matcha strawberry latte. Adding wonderful, sweet strawberries to the traditional matcha latte is a unique variation. On a hot day, this simple, dairy-free recipe is ideal! With its three vibrant layers, this strawberry matcha latte recipe is not only aesthetically pleasing but also tasty.

I adore strawberry milk, but I think it tastes even better with matcha! It’s also a fantastic beverage to prepare when you want to switch up your latte routine!

What is Matcha

Green tea leaves are processed into a fine powder called matcha. Instead of steeping the leaves in water, you may now eat the leaves whole. While steeping green tea or using matcha powder may still provide health advantages, ingesting the entire leaves will give you access to more antioxidants.

Matcha has more caffeine and a stronger flavor since it is more concentrated. 8 fl oz of matcha has around 1 tsp, or 64 mg of caffeine, compared to 8 oz of coffee, which has between 80 and 100 mg.

L-Theanine, an amino acid found in matcha, contributes to a more consistent energy release as opposed to the sudden collapses that individuals experience with conventional coffee.

Matcha in Japanese Tradition

Matcha is ceremonially presented in the Japanese style known as Sado (The Way of the Tea). In practice, the ceremony and practice, which are both influenced by Zen Buddhism, can promote introspection and calm.

Making matcha every day has really taken on the status of a ritual for me. I can’t picture my mornings without the routine since it is so calming in and of itself.

Strawberry Matcha Latte

You’ll adore this beverage if you enjoy strawberries and matcha green tea. It’s loaded with luscious, juicy strawberries and matcha green tea’s delicately grassy taste. Best of all, it takes only five minutes to prepare!

Three separate layers make up the strawberry matcha latte, which is why it is so stunning!

  • Bottom layer: Fresh or frozen strawberries blended with sweetness make up the bottom layer.
  • Middle layer: Oat milk or plant-based milk of any sort. You can also learn how to make your homemade oat milk here.
  • Top layer: Matcha powder blended with a bit of hot water for the top layer.

Matcha and strawberries make a delicious flavor combination, which is why so many Asian delicacies include these two components. These components are also found at Starbucks and boba tea businesses worldwide.

Ingredients for Strawberry Matcha Latte

  • Strawberries: For the base layer of strawberry puree, you can use fresh or frozen strawberries. Use fresh strawberries for the garnish and for chopping into small pieces.
  • Matcha powder: For the finest flavor, use the highest-quality matcha powder you can find. Look for packaging that is airtight and of ceremonial grade.
  • Oat Milk: For this Strawberry Matcha Latte recipe, I use oat milk because of its sweeter taste compared to almond milk, which has a nutty flavor. But you can use any other plant-based milk you prefer

How to make Strawberry Matcha Latte – Steps

We’ll go through the steps for making a Vegan strawberry matcha latte; however, detailed instructions are located at the end of this article.

Step 1: To begin, add half of the hot water to the matcha powder. Using a bamboo whisk or a small whisk, combine until completely lump-free. After that, combine the remaining hot water.

Step 2: Second, use a masher, blender, or the back of a fork to purée your strawberries. Add to a glass of ice-filled servings. Then, add oat milk or your preferred milk. The use of boba is optional; add it before the strawberry puree.

Step 3: Thirdly, delicately add the matcha to form a layer on top of the milk. Stirring might cause the matcha to melt into your milk, so avoid doing that. Serve after garnishing with fresh strawberries!

Tips For Making The Best Strawberry Matcha Latte

  • Use warm water rather than boiling water. Try to get your water almost to boiling point. By doing this, you can keep your matcha from being overly bitter.
  • Matcha powder should be sifted. Making sure that your matcha does not clump will assist in ensuring that your beverage has a smoother flavor and texture. Sifting your matcha through a strainer will also help to ensure this.
  • Immediately prepare and utilize your matcha. Matcha will separate and begin to accumulate in a thicker suspension at the bottom if you whisk it and then leave it rest for too long. Try to put it to use as soon as possible.
  • Instead of fresh strawberries, use frozen ones. For this recipe, using frozen strawberries is a tiny bit simpler. Your strawberries can be defrosted so that they are much simpler to mash. If you use fresh strawberries, you will need to boil them down, so they are easier to mash.
  • Based on weight, layer your coffee. Layer your mashed strawberries first, followed by the ice. After that, slowly add your milk and then your matcha into the cup. This will contribute to the gorgeous separation layers.
