Cucumber Fritters: How Do You Make Them?

The first task in the preparation is to cut broad circular slices and season them with salt. The salt aids in the removal of excess water from the cucumber. Next, wrap it in the cheesecloth for approximately 10-15 minutes to absorb the extra water.

In an Air Fryer, bake the fritters until they are golden brown. To enhance the fritters, even more, season with salt, pepper, and herbs.

What If I Don’t Have an Air Fryer?

There’s no need to feel left out! Bake the prepared fritters in a nonstick baking pan with just a little oil until they’re browned.

I only required two batches to make all the fritters with this recipe. The Phillips Air Fryer’s XL size is the best, in my opinion. At any given moment, it can hold up to 6-7 fritters.

If you’re in the market for a new Air Fryer, I recommend going with a larger model. It will initially cost a few dollars more, but you will end up saving money and time by using it instead of the oven.

Cucumber Fritters: Bake, Toast, or Air Fry?

Cucumber fritters may be produced in three ways: in the oven, air fryer, or stovetop.

Preheat the oven temperature to 200°C (400°F) while arranging all fritters on a baking dish for a delightful cucumber fritter. Then bake for about five minutes.

Keep a close watch on the wedges while they’re cooking. Turn the oven off after the cucumber fritters are finished and have become a light golden-brown color. Then, arrange the cucumber fritters on your serving dishes.

It’s simple to use the stovetop approach. Prep the cucumber slices by coating them in breadcrumbs and seasonings and placing them on a heated pan. Cover the skillet and heat it till the cucumber pieces are crispy. After cooking both sides for two minutes each, sprinkle grated vegan cheese on top and let it melt, and the bottom gets brown.

Cooking the fritters on a Tawa would be a whole different experience from cooking them in an oven since they would have a distinct look. However, since they are both breadcrumbs coated, golden spots will form on them, and the taste will be similar.

Air fry technique – It takes around 5 minutes to fry cucumber fritters inside an air fryer. The timing is determined by the thickness of the slice and the desired crispiness of the coating. Begin with 5 minutes and increase by a couple of minutes if you really want your fritter to be crunchier.

Shut the Air Fryer and fry the fritters for five minutes at 360 degrees Fahrenheit, turning midway and then spraying with some oil halfway. This procedure is demonstrated below.

Please Remember These Important Recommendations

  • Look for a firm cucumber with a rich, shiny green color that is free of dents and blemishes. Check the stiffness of the material by softly pressing it all over. Always choose cucumbers that are rigid and appear to be healthy.

  • Shut the Air Fryer and fry the fritters for five min at 360 degrees Fahrenheit, turning midway and then spraying with oil halfway through.

  • Rinse the cucumber gently with clean water and lightly scrub the skin before trimming both ends and washing it again.

  • To get a fried consistency, the Air Fryer doesn’t really need a lot of oil. These fritters were created in the Air Fryer by softly spraying oil over the top.

  • There isn’t any cheese or butter in these fritters, so they are low in calories and fat.

Ideas for Serving

Cucumber fritters are delicious on their own or with a cup of steaming Adrak Wali Chai. They go well with Tomato Ketchup and Mint Coriander Chutney as well.

With this, Dahi chutney is occasionally offered.

Suggestions for Leftovers

Cucumber fritters should be made as soon as possible since they turn soft if left out for too long. The almond mix, on the other hand, may be kept in an airtight jar and lasts up to four days.

Remove it from the fridge. Next, prepare the fritters with freshly cut cucumber slices that have been coated in an almond milk mixture and breadcrumbs. Then you will either air-fry or shallow fry them. When you’re ready to create the fritters, add some salt.

If you don’t want to fry these, you may bake them in your oven or instead use an air fryer.

Can I use besan or chickpea flour to prepare these?

Yes, instead of breadcrumbs, you can use chickpea flour combined with Corn Flour or Rice Flour to thicken the batter. Then add in water, your spices, and salt before deep-frying for a nice crispy crust. Next, toss the cucumber in the besan mixture, then deep fry or shallow fry it over medium heat.
